Role

Schedule

BEHAVIORAL TECHNICIAN

We are looking for caring and professional Behavior Technicians (BT) to join our team. The Behavior Technician will work directly under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and will provide services within the client’s home. The focus of the job is to help the child/adolescent develop emotionally and behaviorally through the implementation of play-based approaches and behavior plans designed by the BCBA. Behavior Technicians will record data after every session and report directly to their Program Supervisor.

Candidates must be able to work independently, be self-driven, and work in sometimes stressful environments.

Requirements:

  1. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in behavior analysis, behavioral health, education, or some other related field and a minimum of one year working with children diagnosed with autism or An associate’s degree or an equal amount of credit hours completed from an accredited institution in behavior analysis, behavioral health, education or some other related field and a minimum of 2 years working with children diagnosed with autism.
  2. RBT training is required but we will provide training.
  3. Proof of certification in physical management is required; however, this certification is also provided free of charge.

Schedule

Part-time afternoon/evenings and possibly a Saturday or Sunday.

* Supervision program for those pursuing their BCBA certification.

IN HOME SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Our In-Home Support Specialists are committed to facilitate, model, and build skills that will lead to the optimal independence of the people we support.
Essential Functions:
Daily activities such as meal preparation and planning

  • Personal care
  • Facilitating community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings in the community
  • Providing transportation to recreational and community activities
  • Life Skills Assistance
  • Supporting therapeutic and behavioral plans

  • Can work with limited supervision.
  • Advocates for and protects participants’ rights in accordance with Arc policies and procedures.
  • Treats all individuals in an age-appropriate manner, with respect and dignity, and to encourage opportunities that promote choice.
  • Maintains a mature and positive attitude when dealing with program participants, staff, families, the public and outside representatives.
  • Works with a spirit of cooperation with all departments.
  • Carries out all job responsibilities in a professional manner.
  • Attends all agency staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintains attendance. Adheres to policies on attendance, days of absence, and illness.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of any significant events or the need to modify any area of the operation/activity.
  • Serves as a positive and appropriate role model for program participants.
  • Provides advocacy for participants based on their personal choice and their individual plan.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with participants, their families, and providers.
  • Responds to need of participants, families, and providers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Possesses a valid driver’s license, privately owned vehicle, and evidence of insurance.

Minimum Qualifications:

Prior experience working with people who have developmental and physical disabilities preferred*

  • Must have the ability to mentor and assist people in all areas of life skills including recreation, independence, communication, and health
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Applicants must possess basic computer aptitude and be able to speak/write in English.
