Parenting is one of the most rewarding and challenging experiences in life. At Reach To Be, we believe that all parents have the potential to be great parents, but sometimes they need a little extra support and guidance. That’s where our parenting support programs come in.

We designed our parenting support programs to provide parents with intellectual disabilities and parents of individuals with intellectual disabilities the tools and resources they need to navigate the ups and downs of parenting. We offer different programs that cover topics such as child development, behavior management, communication, and more. Our programs are led by experienced professionals who are passionate about helping parents become their best selves.

Whether you’re a new parent or have been parenting for years, our programs are designed to meet you where you are and help you achieve your goals. We understand that every family is unique, and we work closely with parents to create customized parenting support plans that meet their individual needs. Our goal is to empower parents with the knowledge and skills they need to be confident and effective parents and to prevent child abuse and neglect. This is a primary prevention program that is designed to give the maximum support needed for parents to thrive and feel empowered as a positive parent.

Offers Parent with Disabilities or Parents with Disabled Children Support in many areas including Parenting Skills, Parent Education, Parent Support Groups, Parent Consultation, Connecting to Community Resources, Collaborating with Other Providers, Support with Coordination of Services on their children’s Behalf.

This is a State of CT Department of Developmental Services (DDS) Funded Program. Please Contact the Assigned DDS Case Manager to make a referral or The DDS Helpline for Children that receive support from DDS.

A 40 hour Parent Support Evaluation for Each Parent is Needed prior to starting services.
